Residential Design Codes (R-Codes) 2002

The R-Codes provide the basis for controlling the siting and design of residential development throughout Western Australia.

The R-Codes were prepared by the WAPC, and came into effect on 4 October 2002 following a comprehensive review of the 1991 Residential Planning Codes of Western Australia. The R-Codes replaced the 1991 Codes.

An operational review of the Residential Design Codes of Western Australia (R-Codes) has been undertaken by the WAPC. The 2008 R-Codes will be gazetted on 29 April 2008.

Supplementary Information

The WAPC has published Planning Bulletin No. 55, Residential Design Codes and Amendment to Residential Subdivision Policy summarising some of the matters relevant to the introduction of the new R-Codes and advising of the related changes to the WAPC's DC Policy No. 2.2 Residential Subdivision Policy.
