Planning WA

The report contains projections of the Western Australian population, by age group and sex, to 2031. Population projections are made for each local government area to 2021. These forecasts are based on anticipated changes to natural increase, immigration and interstate and intrastate migration. Local economic intelligence and multiplier effects from known development projects are then used to adjust the underlying assumptions.

Over the next year we will use these population forecasts to provide projections of household and dwelling numbers across the state, and projections of the labour force.
