The consultation period for the Building a Better Planning System Consultation Paper has been extended until Friday 15 May 2009.
Eric Lumsden, Director General, Department for Planning and Infrastructure said that the extension is in response to requests from a number of people and organisations.
"It is important that we hear the views of all stakeholders as the consultation paper identifies a number of options to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the planning system.
"It also sets out a broad planning reform agenda for lasting improvement to the planning system and identifies priority areas for reform.
"The proposed reforms to the planning system will ensure that Western Australia remains a highly competitive and attractive place to live.
