The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is the peak representative body of land use planning and development in our State.
Our regional planning system is one of the most developed anywhere in Australia. It undertakes a major coordinating role across all aspects of the State's planning process and operates as a partnership between the community, business and all levels and sectors of government.
It has operated for almost fifty years providing continuity and impartiality.
The WAPC is a statutory authority and is one of the agencies in the Planning and Infrastructure portfolio created by the State Government to integrate land use and transport planning.
The WAPC operates with the support of the Department for Planning and Infrastructure which provides professional and technical expertise, administrative support and resources to advise the WAPC and implement its decisions.
