The Department of Planning distributed survey packs for the Developers' Intentions Survey in late 2011.  If you would like to participate in the survey following the close of the submission period, please  download the relevant survey pack/s below or contact: udp@planning.wa.gov.au

The Developers' Intentions Survey encompasses future development of residential, industrial, commercial and other urban land across the State.

Details from the survey are used to:

  • Identify the yield and timing/staging of future land development areas over the next 20 years;
  • Assess infrastructure coordination needs;
  • Determine major development issues and constraints in the planning and development process;
  • Enable the planning process to focus on the most critical factors/areas  that are delaying land development and/or increasing development costs and
  • Inform regional strategies such as Directions 2031 and Beyond and other plans.

The Developers' Intentions Survey 2011 consisted of three individual surveys specific to different land uses and geographic areas.


Perth and Peel Developers' Land and Dwellings Intentions Survey 2011

This survey covers residential land and dwelling development projects in the Perth metropolitan and Peel regions yielding 5 or more lots or dwellings.

The Perth and Peel Developers' Land and Dwellings Intentions Survey 2011 will form a key input into the Perth and Peel Development and Infrastructure Outlook and other strategies/plans such as the implementation of Directions 2031 and Beyond


Regional Developers' Land and Dwellings Intentions Survey 2011

This survey covers land development for residential, transient workforce accommodation, key worker housing, tourism and commercial/retail purposes across the State's regional centres (not including Perth metropolitan or Peel regions).

Statewide Industrial Land Developers' Intentions Survey 2011

This survey covers industrial land development across the State (including Perth metropolitan and Peel regions and other regional centres).

The Statewide Industrial Land Developers' Intentions Survey 2011 will form a key input into the implementation of the Industrial Land Strategy.


Background

The Department of Planning undertakes the Developers' Intentions Survey on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission as part of the Urban Development Program (UDP). The UDP monitors urban land supply and demand and coordinates the actions required of State and local government agencies for the efficient planning and provision of physical and social infrastructure for new development.

Perth metropolitan and Peel regions Developers' Land and Dwellings Intentions Survey 2009

Respondents to the Developers' Intentions Survey undertaken in 2009 identified sites for the development of 122,289 dwellings across 282 project areas (from 2009/10 up to 2020 and beyond).
